The market size for online HR software is only growing year on year and is slated to touch $10 billion by 2020 according to some estimates. The low initial investment, freedom from maintenance, and continuous access that come with SaaS applications are some of the drivers of this trend.

While deploying HR software at the workplace, one metric that HR professionals have to keep a close eye on is the adoption rate, the number that shows how soon employees are adopting the product.

It is nice to have a software application with all the bells and whistles but if employees don’t use it, all that investment goes to naught. On the last day of the year, here are some tips on improving the adoption rates in 2016.

Ring out the old, completely:

Sometimes, to open one door, just closing the other won’t work; it needs to be barred completely. The reason you deploy this software is to improve HRM and increase productivity.

If you offer employees the self-service portal and they still send you requests in emails, your deployment has failed. Ensure that all the old processes are dead completely. Don’t entertain the old style of functioning at all. Let the software be the only interface for everything related to HRM.

Facilitate continuous access:

One of the biggest advantages of SaaS applications is the continued access that everyone can enjoy. Since it is delivered over the internet, all one needs is a working connection to use the software.

Further, since it can be accessed through mobile applications, users have access even when on the move. The ease and convenience they enjoy due to the fact that they can manage everything on the move will improve user adoption considerably.

Employee evangelists:

There are always some employees who take to the software more than the others. They understand the value of technology and start using the application immediately.

These employees can help in convincing the others how the software can help. They act as early adopters and pave the way for others to follow. Identify such employees and make them evangelize the software and its benefits.

Try to get to 100% user adoption as soon as possible and get the most out of your online HR software application.

Happy New Year to you from all of us here at SutiSoft.
